Gastric Balloon
Stomach Balloon Application Stages
Anesthesia: Mild sedation or general anesthesia is usually administered during the procedure.
Balloon Placement: Endoscopically, a thin tube (endoscope) is inserted through the mouth into the stomach. The balloon located at the end of the tube is placed in the stomach.
Balloon Inflation: The balloon is inflated inside the stomach, typically using either liquid or air. The volume of the balloon is adjusted based on the individual’s needs and the doctor’s recommendations.
Balloon fixation: Once placed in the stomach, the balloon is secured to prevent it from accidentally advancing or passing through the stomach.
Post-Procedure: After balloon placement, the patient may need to be observed for a few hours. Subsequently, the patient is typically discharged the same day and can return to their normal daily activities.
These information reflect the general process. However, the process can be different for each patient, and the stages can vary depending on the doctor’s evaluation and the patient’s needs.
